Sometimes it can be hard to talk to your family about your funeral wishes. With a pre-paid funeral plan, you can make your wishes known without upsetting anyone and then when the time comes, they do not have to worry about the decisions or about finances. Pre-paid funeral plans are a useful way to make funeral arrangements in advance at a time when you and your family are not upset and emotional.
Here are some commonly asked questions…
What is a pre-paid funeral plan?
A pre-paid funeral plan allows you to make provision for your funeral arrangements while you are still alive. By paying for them in advance and making decisions so your family don’t have to.
What is so good about them?
You can make informed decisions about what you want to happen for your funeral in advance while you are not under any stress and are healthy. This means that you are not emotional as your family would be making choices once you have died.
Where does my money go?
The money is invested into a trust fund by our funeral planning company Golden Charter Funeral Plans. The trust fund is protected and is backed by AXA one of the largest insurance companies in the world. It is also regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
So, after I have paid my money, I will never be asked for any more?
Golden Charter guarantees that the plan fund will rise by at least inflation each year. The funeral director’s charges are guaranteed. The third-party payments such as cemetery or crematorium fees and doctors’ fees are outside our control and are not guaranteed however most of the charge will be paid for within the plan and usually there would be only a small difference to be paid at the time of need.
What to do when someone dies
We will help you every step of the way by registering the death, what happens if the coroner is involved in the funeral and any other questions you may have. We always have a funeral director available to talk to families, also we take on so much of the burden on ourselves that you can gather your thoughts and prepare for the days ahead.
